Day one: look before you act
Open your sub's page and read what they chose to share with you: their lock, their days, their tracks, whatever they switched on. That choice tells you a lot about how they want this to work. You see nothing they have not switched on, and they can change it at any time.
Note the time where they are. Every date and time on their page is in their day, with yours beside it, so a task due today means their today.
A first task, and a note
Start small. A first task should be something they can do today without planning: log before ten, a short walk, three lines about how the day went. They accept or decline it, then mark it done or not done. Nothing is enforced, and a declined task is information, not a failure.
A note asks nothing of them. A short one on the second or third day, noticing something they logged, often matters more than any task.
A word for their day
The morning word is one word or a short focus on their Today, from you, for the rest of their day: patience, honesty, steady. It is a small daily touch that takes seconds, and their evening log is how you hear how it went.
Agree the terms by the end of the week
Terms write down what you both agreed: a lock target, how often tasks come, how many requests a week, the limits that are never crossed, and a date to look at it again. Either of you can propose them and the other agrees; you can each sign as you do. Nothing in them is enforced, and your sub can reopen them at any time.
Write the limits plainly. If you are unsure what theirs are, ask before you propose, and let them add to the list.
Know when you are needed
Needs you, at the top of Your subs, collects what is waiting on you: a task answered, a note read, a request, a lock ended. Switch on the alerts in Settings, by push, email or both, and you hear about it at most once a day each, between nine in the morning and nine at night your time, in words that name nobody.
On a phone, add the site to your home screen from Your subs. It opens straight to them, and a task or the morning word can be sent from their card.
If they pause you
Your sub can pause you in one tap. While paused you see only that, and can change nothing until they resume. It needs no reason and it is not a verdict on you. Knowing they can makes it easier for them to say yes to everything else.
Start small, write down what you agree, and let them see that you are paying attention.
