A chastity contract

What a contract between a sub and a keyholder is for, the parts it needs, a plain template in words, and how Terms keeps each version you agree.

What a contract is for

A chastity contract is a written agreement between a sub and a keyholder about how a lock will run. It is for clarity and consent: both of you can see what was agreed, in words, before anything starts, and either of you can point to it later. It is not for enforcement. Nothing in it can make anybody do anything, and the moment it is used that way it has stopped being what it is for.

It is not a legal document, whatever it is called, and it does not need to look like one. Plain words are better than borrowed ones. A contract that fits on one page and that you both actually read beats a long one that sounds serious.

The parts

A lock target: how long, or until when, with Day 1 as the day the cage goes on. It is a target and not a sentence; the contract should say who can move it and how.

How often tasks come, and what kind. A task a day, a few a week, or none; and what is never asked (nothing at work, no photos, whatever yours are). The limits that are never crossed, written as plainly as you can: health comes off the table first, then anything else either of you needs.

A review date, so the agreement is looked at again rather than drifting on. And how either side stops: the sub can always unlock for their health and can always pause the arrangement; the keyholder can always step down. Say how that is said, not whether it is allowed.

A plain template

This agreement is between ______ (the sub) and ______ (the keyholder), from ______ until it is reviewed on ______. The sub will stay locked from ______, aiming for ______ days, and the keyholder may set or move the planned end, saying why.

The keyholder may send up to ______ tasks a week, and will not ask for ______ or ______. The sub may make up to ______ requests a week (time off, to change a task, something else), and the keyholder will answer each one yes, no or later.

These limits are never crossed: ______. The cage comes off straight away for pain, numbness, a change in colour or swelling, whatever the date, and this agreement says so.

The sub may pause this agreement at any time, without a reason, and may end it at any time by saying so. The keyholder may step down at any time by saying so, with notice of ______ if they can. We will look at this again on the review date, or sooner if either of us asks. Signed ______ and ______.

Agreeing it

One side writes the first version and the other reads it on their own, with time to think and the freedom to say no to any line. The questions to ask before signing are small: is there anything here I would be embarrassed to say out loud, is there anything missing that I am assuming, and do I know how to stop. If the answer to the last one is not obvious from the page, the contract is not ready.

Agree it while nobody is locked and nobody is in a hurry. A contract agreed on the first evening of a lock, or at the end of a long day, tends to be either too strict or too vague. Read it once more the next morning, then sign.

Revisiting it

The review date is the most useful line in the contract, because it makes change normal. On the day, read it together: what worked, what was never used, what one of you quietly stopped keeping to. Change it, or agree it again as it stands. A contract that is never revisited becomes a thing one of you is quietly breaking.

Either side can ask for an earlier look. For the sub that is always open; a keyholder who wants a change proposes it and waits. If something is not working between reviews, the pause is there for exactly that, and a pause is not a breach.

Terms on chastity.report

Terms are the contract built into the site, between a sub and their current keyholder only. One side proposes: a lock target, how often tasks come, how many requests a week, limits, anything else, and a review period of 30, 60, 90 or 180 days. The other agrees, and each can sign as they do. Every version is kept with both agreements, so you can always see what was agreed and when it changed.

They are in force until the review date, then marked to review until either of you offers them again. The sub can reopen them at any time; the keyholder cannot. They end when the key moves to somebody else, and the sub can offer the last version to the next keyholder. Nothing in them is enforced or scored, nobody but the two of you sees them, and they are never on a public page, in an email or a push.

Write it plainly, agree it slowly, and look at it again on the date you set.

All the best, Erik
